40 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the reason he has not complied with an undertaking given by his predecessor in office to grant-aid in part the publication by four Oireachtas Members of their report on the crucial referendum in Chile on 5 October 1988 which was presented to him in the last year; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have had the question of financial assistance towards the printing of the report on the referendum in Chile thoroughly examined. I regret to have to say that there is no budgetary provision in the Foreign Affairs vote for assistance to a project of this kind.
