Ceist:28 Mr. Blaney asked the Minister for Finance the amount of annual service charges relating to the national debt in respect of each year from 1969 to 1989 inclusive.

Debt service charges up to 1974 are on the basis of financial years ending on 31 March. They are followed by the nine month period, 1 April to 31 December 1974, which facilitated the transition to a calendar year basis with effect from 1 January 1975.
I propose to circulate the following tabular statement setting out the annual debt service charges for the national debt in respect of each financial year from 1969 to 1989:
