Ceist:51 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for the Marine the estimated tonnage of fishing vessels nationally and in Counties Kerry, Donegal, Cork and Waterford in (a) 1985 and (b) 1990.
Written Answers. - Fishing Vessels Estimated Tonnage.
A new register of fishing vessels is currently being compiled by my Department in order to establish up to date and reliable estimates of the size of the Irish fishing fleet for end 1989 and in previous years. As a result I cannot provide the Deputy with a complete analysis of fleet tonnage at this time. I expect, however, that comprehensive data will be available fairly soon and I will then provide the information sought directly to the Deputy.
