Vol. 395 No. 6

Written Answers. - Dún Laoghaire Mooring Charges.

Eamon Gilmore

Ceist:

91 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Marine the reason a new set of mooring charges were introduced at Dún Laoghaire Harbour, County Dublin with effect from 1 January 1990.

The annual fee, payable in respect of each licensed mooring in Dún Laoghaire harbour, has been reviewed at appropriate intervals in recent years.

There is considerable diversity in the size of boats moored in the harbour. Accordingly, it was considered appropriate to replace the previous flat rate annual fee of £70, which was set in 1987, with a new tiered fee structure based on the length of boats moored, with effect from 1 January 1990. There is no increase in the fee for smaller boats.
