Ceist:104 Mr. Hilliard asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Meath was paid the suckler cow scheme for only 11 animals when he had applied for it in respect of 12 animals.

The person named applied for special beef premium on 12 male cattle originally but amended his application at his on-farm inspection to show that he was applying for premium on 11 animals and payment was accordingly made on that number.

Ceist:105 Mr. Hilliard asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when calf and beef subsidies will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath who is living in a disadvantaged area.
Payments to this applicant under the 1989 calf premium and special beef premium schemes are being processed and will issue shortly.
An advance payment of 70 per cent has already been made to the applicant under the 1989 beef cow and equine headage scheme. Payment of the balance cannot be made until the applicant furnishes the local office of my Department with documentary evidence of the lands he has rented.
