Vol. 395 No. 6

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Increases.

Brendan Howlin

Ceist:

141 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Labour, in light of social welfare increases announced in the recent budget, if consideration is being given to increasing allowances for persons employed under social employment schemes in order that the incentive to work will not be eroded for the unemployed.

Social employment scheme payments are not directly linked to social welfare payments. I am, however, considering the question of increasing payments under the scheme.
