Vol. 395 No. 7

Ceisteanna — Questions. Oral Answers. - Departmental Advertising/Publicity.

Liam Kavanagh

Ceist:

11 Mr. Kavanagh asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will give a detailed breakdown of the sum allocated in the Estimates for his Department for advertising and publicity; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The sum allocated in the Book of Estimates for advertising and publicity in my Department in 1990 is £218,000.

Of this amount £24,000 will be spent on routine departmental notices while some £194,000 will be spent on information campaigns on radio and TV and in the national and provincial press exclusively for departmental purposes.

Such information campaigns are concerned with such subjects as rabies warnings and the prevention of dogs worrying sheep.
