Vol. 395 No. 9

Written Answers. - Free Accommodation in Great Southern Hotels.

Brendan Howlin

Ceist:

51 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Labour whether any persons are regularly able to avail of free accommodation in the Great Southern Hotels, as a perk of their employment; if so, the cost of such arrangements to the company; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I understand that, in accordance with normal commercial practice for the hotel industry, some employees of the Great Southern Hotels Group may be entitled to avail themselves of free accommodation under certain circumstances.

The cost of such arrangements is treated as part of the day-to-day running expenses of the hotel group and it would take an inordinate amount of time and effort to extract the information.
