184 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for the Environment if he will consider varying speed limits in accordance with the different categories and standard of national and county roadways; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Proposals for changes in existing Irish speed limits are being considered in the context of proposals prepared by the EC Commission for harmonising certain speed limits.
