Vol. 396 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Kerry Garda Stations.

Michael Moynihan

Ceist:

50 Mr. Moynihan asked the Minister for Justice if he is satisfied with the condition of each Garda station in County Kerry; if he has any plans for improvement or refurbishments in respect of facilities in that county in 1990; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

As Minister for Justice, I am anxious to ensure that, within the financial resources available to me, all Garda stations, including those in County Kerry, are brought up to modern standards as soon as practicable.

In recent years a new divisional headquarters has been built in Tralee and new district headquarters have been built in Killarney and Cahirciveen.

Stations at which improvements will be carried out this year in Kerry include Waterville, Sneem, Lixnaw and Killorglin, while ongoing maintenance work will be carried out on other stations in that country where the need for such is identified and the budgetary situation permits.
