Ceist:

92 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the steps which have been taken by Teagasc to set up a proper pension scheme to facilitate windows and orphans; if any proposals have been made in regard to this matter at present; if he will indicate a time span for the completion of proposals and negotiations; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Spouses' and children's superannuation schemes are already in operation for all staff of Teagasc with the exception of former farm, maintenance and general staff of An Foras Talúntais.

Teagasc has recently approached my Department about a review of the superannuation schemes of the organisation generally. This review will be undertaken and completed as soon as possible.
