Patrick McCartan

Ceist:

68 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Justice if he will outline the effectiveness or otherwise of the Garda clinic at Donaghmeade, Dublin 13; and if the clinic will be manned at the level envisaged when the scheme was first introduced.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 67 and 68 together.

As I indicated in reply to Question No. 73 on 8 November 1989, the Garda authorities consider that the police office or "clinic" at Donaghmeade is providing a satisfactory service and there are no proposals at present to establish a Garda station in the area. The "clinic" is being manned at the level envisaged from the outset and the Garda service available to the local authority has been further augmented by the assignment of three community gardaí to the area in November 1989.
