I propose to take Questions Nos. 93 and 94 together.
There are three pre-fabricated classrooms at Scoil Íde Naofa, Kilmeade, Athy, County Kildare. The question of the provision of an appropriate permanent extension to the school is being considered in my Department and it is proposed to discuss the whole matter with the school authorities at an early date. My attention has not been drawn to the possibility of a fire hazard at the school but, in the light of the Deputy's question I have arranged for an immediate inspection by a member of my Department's professional staff with a view to carrying out any necessary works.
My Department's engineers have not yet been able to complete tender documents for the electrical and heating works at the school. This is due to the large volume of drawing work on hands. Every effort will be made to complete the necessary documents so that the works can be carried out at the earliest possible date.
I am not in a position at this stage to say precisely when the works will be carried out.
