Ceist:

143 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received an application from St. Andrew's Athletic Club, Ashbourne, County Meath, for a grant of £60,000 under the scheme for capital grants for the provision of recreational facilities in respect of their proposal to provide an all-weather track in Ashbourne; when the grants will be paid; if the amount of money will be £60,000; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

155 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received from Dublin Corporation an application for an amenity grant on behalf of Donore Harriers, Dublin 12; when the file was received in his Department; if Dublin Corporation has recommended that a grant be paid; the amount of the grant; when Donore Harriers will receive the money from national lottery funds; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

156 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for the Environment if, in view of the dearth of facilities in Palmerstown, Dublin 20, he will approve the grants recommended by Dublin County Council for (a) Palmerstown Parish Centre of £50,000, (b) Palmerstown Rangers Football Club of £30,000 and (c) tennis courts at Glenaulin Park for £30,000; and if no decision has yet been made, when a decision will be made.

157 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for the Environment if he will approve the amenity grant of £50,000 recommended by Dublin Corporation for Donore Harriers Sports Centre, Chapelizod, Dublin 20; when the grant will be paid to the club; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

159 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment if he has yet made a decision on the new amenities/recreational facilities grants schemes; whether he has received an application for grant aid from the proceeds of the national lottery from the North Kildare Club, County Kildare; if he will give favourable consideration to this request in the coming year; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

160 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Environment if he has yet made a decision on the new amenities/recreational facilities grants schemes; whether he has received an application for a grant from national lottery funds from the Olympic Karate Club, Cork; if he will give the present position in relation to the application; and if the application will be favourably considered in view of the excellent work being carried out by the club in the sporting field.

161 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Environment if he has yet made a decision on the new amenities/recreational facilities grants schemes; whether he has received an application for a grant from national lottery funds from the Iona Basketball Club, Cork; the present position in relation to the application; if the application will be favourably considered in view of the excellent work in the sporting field for young people undertaken by this club and the substantial expenditure already incurred in the premises for this purpose; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

162 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment if he has yet made a decision on the new amenities/recreational grants schemes; whether he has received an application for grant aid from the proceeds of the national lottery from Ardclough Hurling and Football Club, County Kildare; if he will give favourable consideration to this application having regard to the extensive fund-raising already undertaken by the club and the considerable improvements undertaken and proposed; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

163 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment if he has yet made a decision on the new amenities/recreational facilities grants schemes; whether he has received an application for grant aid from the proceeds of the national lottery from Maynooth GAA Club, County Kildare; if his attention has been drawn to the extensive proposals outlined by the club in their application; if he will give favourable consideration to the request for grant aid having regard to the vast catchment area served by the club and the commitment of its members towards organisation and fund-raising; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

164 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment if he has yet made a decision on the new amenities/recreational facilities grants schemes; whether he has received an application to facilitate the restoration of Cloncurry Cemetery, County Kildare from the proceeds of the national lottery; if he will give favourable consideration to this application having regard to the historical significance of the cemetery in question; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

165 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment if he has yet made a decision on the new amenities/recreational facilities grants schemes; whether he has received an application from Maynooth GAA Club, County Kildare for funds to develop and extend new and existing facilities at the Club Grounds, Maynooth, County Kildare; if he will respond favourably to the application, having regard to the important works proposed and already undertaken by the club; the possible source of funding; if funding will be provided in the current year; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 143, 155 to 157 and 159 to 165 together.

All of these projects have been recommended by the relevant local authorities for consideration under the amenities/recreational facilities grants scheme, 1990. Decisions on grant allocations in relation to these and all other applications recommended by local authorities will be made as soon as possible.
