166 Mr. L. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health if a person (details supplied) in Dublin 3 who is at present in residence at a private nursing home and who suffers from Alzheimer's disease will be awarded a subvention grant; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The responsibility for granting subventions to persons in long term care is a matter for the Eastern Health Board in the first instance. I understand that a subvention has been granted by the board in this case with effect from 1 January 1990.
