Vol. 396 No. 9

Written Answers. - Custody and Access Orders.

Charles Flanagan

Ceist:

124 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Justice the present position regarding reciprocal recognition and enforcement of custody and access orders between Ireland and other European States; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Council of Europe Convention on Recognition and Enforcement of Decisions concerning custody of children and on restoration of custody of children provides for the reciprocal recognition and enforcement of custody and access orders as between member states of the Council of Europe and information about the legislation that is being prepared to enable Ireland to ratify the Convention is contained in my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 206 of 20 February 1990.
