Vol. 397 No. 1

Written Answers. - Value of GNP and GDP.

Mervyn Taylor

Ceist:

29 Mr. Taylor asked the Minister for Finance the value, in cash terms, of (a) gross national product and (b) gross domestic product at the end of 1989 and at the end of each of the preceding five years; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Estimates of the value of gross domestic product and gross national product are compiled only for calendar years by the Central Statistics Office (CSO). The tabular statement which I propose to have circulated in the Official Report provides the CSO estimates for the years 1984 to 1988 as published in National Income and Expenditure and my Department's latest Estimates for 1989.
