Vol. 397 No. 3

Written Answers. - Green Card.

Liam Aylward

Ceist:

72 Mr. Aylward asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will communicate with the Irish Consulate in the United States in order to arrange to have a green card replaced for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 6.

A green card is an alien registration card issued by the US authorities to a permanent resident alien. Neither the Minister for Foreign Affairs nor the Irish Consulate General in the United States can arrange to have a green card replaced. I understand that a person wishing to replace a green card can do so only by applying in person to an office of the US Immigration and Naturalisation Service in the United States.
