I propose to circulate in the Official Report a tabular statement giving the information sought by the Deputy, subject to certain qualifications.
The latest official information available on the number of enterprises in Ireland classified by numbers employed is contained in the Census of Industrial Production, 1986, which was published by the Central Statistics Office in April 1989. The information sought by the Deputy is presented in accordance with the format contained in that census. There is no official information available which provides a breakdown of enterprises in Ireland between public and private.
