158 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Health if he has received the report of the Dental Council in relation to the establishment of the auxiliary dental structure of denturists; the proposals which he and the Dental Council have to establish same; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
In November 1989 I asked the Dental Council to take an objective look at the need to establish here in Ireland a class of denturist who would be qualified to supply dentures direct to the general public. In response to this request the Dental Council are carrying out an in-depth assessment of the situation but does not expect to be in a position to issue its report on the matter before June 1990.
