Ceist:96 Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs the number of commissioned reports which he is currently awaiting from committees, commissions, inter-departmental committees and working groups.

The only commissioned report which my Department is currently awaiting is the North West Study (embracing County Donegal and the Derry and Strabane District Council areas). The study has been commissioned by the two Governments (with financial assistance from the EC) under the aegis of the Anglo-Irish Intergovernmental Conference. The study, being prepared by independent consultants, is assessing the major economic and social problems in the north west of the island and will identify ways to tackle these problems, especially through the creation of new employment. The study is expected to be completed shortly.
