Vol. 397 No. 7

Written Answers. - Lyons Estate Sale.

Bernard J. Durkan

Ceist:

106 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education, in respect of the proposed sale of further portions of Lyons Estate, Celbridge, County Kildare, the names of the consultants who advised in respect of the sale of the estate; by whom they were appointed; the total number and type of buildings on the farm which will no longer be necessary; the total number of college enterprises being discontinued; the number of proposed staff redundancies; the number of staff and ranks to be redeployed; the extent to which an expansion or reduction of educational facilities can be accommodated within the proposed structures; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I would refer the Deputy to my replies to Questions Nos. 20, 39 and 234 of 6 March 1990 and Questions Nos. 98 and 99 on 15 March 1990.

The staffing arrangements of University College, Dublin, are matters to be determined by the college authorities within agreed gross pay expenditure limits and having regard to the total income available to the college in any financial year.
