292 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health if he will give favourable consideration to an application from KARE, County Kildare for grant aid from the proceeds of the national lottery for the development of the association's facilities in County Kildare in the current year; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
From this year on grants from lottery proceeds to local voluntary organisations will be administered by the relevant health board, in this case, the Eastern Health Board. I will make the necessary block allocation of funds from the national lottery to each health board in the near future. Accordingly I would suggest that KARE should submit its case for funding to the Eastern Health Board as soon as possible.
