Vol. 397 No. 9

Written Answers. - Clonmel, Tipperary Schools.

Theresa Ahearn

Ceist:

320 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Education when a representative of her Department will visit the High School in Clonmel, County Tipperary, in connection with their application for a much needed extension; when the building of the extension will be sanctioned; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Arrangements have been made for officers of my Department to meet the school authorities in Clonmel tomorrow, 26 April.

I will consider the school's application further, when I receive a report of the meeting.

Theresa Ahearn

Ceist:

321 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Education if it is her intention to sanction the request made by the Board of Management of the Model School, Western Road, Clonmel, County Tipperary, to extend one of the classrooms; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The school authorities of Clonmel parochial national school have asked my Department for grant-aid towards the cost of enlarging one of the classrooms. My Department's local professional advisers are examining the feasibility of the proposal and when their report is available, the matter will be considered sympathetically and a decision conveyed to the school authorities.
