Ceist:36 Mr. Kemmy asked the Minister for Justice if he will institute an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death of a person (details supplied) in County Clare on 11th February, 1984.

On 4 November 1986 the then Minister for Justice set out, in some considerable detail, the position in this case in reply to Questions Nos. 2 and 146 — Columns Nos. 678-680 of the Official Report.
There is nothing I can usefully add to that reply at this stage, other than to say no new relevant material emerged in the course of the Garda diciplinary proceedings, which are referred to, which would warrant any reopening of the matter.
