16 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for the Environment if Kildare County Council have prepared contract documents for the N4 by-pass of Leixlip, Maynooth and Kilcock; when he will authorise advertisement by Kildare County Council for contracts for the construction of the by-pass having regard to the fact that it affects Leixlip, Maynooth and Kilcock; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The local authority have submitted draft contract documents for the road works element of this scheme. I understand that the local authority expect to be in a position to forward the final set of documents for the entire scheme for approval next September. Following receipt of these documents there will be no undue delay in authorising the authority to proceed with the invitation of tenders for the construction of the scheme.
