Vol. 398 No. 1

Written Answers. - Lisdoonvarna (Clare) Houses.

Donal Carey

Ceist:

149 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Justice if his attention has been drawn to the objection of Lisdoonvarna Community Council, County Clare, to the proposed sale of the National Building Agency houses in Lisdoonvarna; and if he intends to provide other accommodation for gardaí who are allocated to the local station.

I am aware of the representations to which the Deputy refers. The position is that the NBA houses at Lisdoonvarna are being sold as part of the general programme for the disposal of Garda houses. As the Garda authorities have indicated that the houses at Lisdoonvarna are not required for official Garda use, it is not proposed to provide other accommodation for gardaí attached to the station there.
