Vol. 398 No. 1

Written Answers. - Re-engagement of Former State Employees.

Peter Barry

Ceist:

160 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for the Environment if, since 1989, any former State employees have been engaged, either permanently or on contract, by his Department; and if so, if he will give (i) their names, (ii) the terms of their employment or contract, (iii) the salary being paid to them and (iv) the pension, if any, payable to them from the State.

Four former State employees have been engaged by my Department since 1989 in an unestablished capacity— two clerical assistants and two cleaners. Each one is being remunerated in accordance with the salary scale applicable to the grade and pensions, which were being paid in three cases, ceased with effect from the date of re-engagement.
