53 Mr. Ryan asked the Minister for Health the reason for the delay in the payment of a salary increase and retrospection to certain categories of Eastern Health Board pensioners since 1 July 1989; and if he will have this problem resolved.
The reason for the delay referred to by the Deputy is a transfer from manual to computerised systems for revising pensions in the Eastern Health Board which will in future ensure automative update of pensions.
The board regrets the delay and any inconvenience caused to individual pensioners as a result. The board has given an assurance that all relevant pensioners will have received their increase in payments by the end of this month.
