Vol. 398 No. 1

Written Answers. - Tax Rebate.

Ivan Yates

Ceist:

93 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Finance when a tax rebate by way of a marriage allowance will be issued to a person (details supplied) in County Wexford.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that a review of the taxpayer's liability for 1989/90, incorporating the appropriate relief in respect of his marriage during the year, has now been carried out. An overpayment of £467.35 arose and a cheque in settlement will be issued to him within the next ten days.

Ned O'Keeffe

Ceist:

94 Mr. E. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Finance the reason a tax rebate was not paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that they have been unable to trace the taxpayer's record on the basis of the information supplied. The RSI number quoted seems to be incorrect and the taxpayer is not recorded at the address given. If the Deputy supplies further information enabling the taxpayer to be traced the matter will be examined again.

John Fahey

Ceist:

95 Mr. J. Fahey asked the Minister for Finance the reason a person (details supplied) in County Waterford who submitted an application for a tax rebate in January, 1990 has not received payment; and when payment of same will issue.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer's claim for repayment is being dealt with in conjunction with a review of her husband's liability. The inspector of taxes has recently requested details from her husband which will enable the review to take place.
