Vol. 398 No. 6

Written Answers. - Income Tax on Pension.

John V. Farrelly

Ceist:

47 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Finance the reason a deduction of income tax has been increased on the pension of a person (details supplied) in County Meath; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that, on the basis of the information contained in a return of income form received by the inspector from the taxpayer on 25 April, 1990, a new tax-free allowance certificate, entitling the taxpayer to marginal relief, will issue shortly. Any tax overdeducted will be refunded by the payer of her local authority pension.
