Allocation of Time: Motion.

I move:

That, notwithstanding anything in Standing Orders:

(1) on Tuesday, 15th May, on the conclusion of the proceedings on the motion relating to the Local Elections (Specification of Local Election Year) Order, 1990, the Dáil shall adjourn forthwith; and on Wednesday, 16th May, Tuesday, 22nd May and Wednesday, 23rd May, the hour at which business is to be interrupted shall be 10.30 p.m.;

(2) the sitting shall be suspended from 6.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, 16th May;

(3) the proceedings on the motion relating to the Local Elections (Specification of Local Election Year) Order, 1990, if not previously concluded, shall be brought to a conclusion at 11.30 p.m. on Tuesday, 15th May, by putting from the Chair the Question necessary to bring them to a conclusion; and

(4) in the case of the Finance Bill, 1990, the following arrangements shall apply:—

(a) motions for Financial Resolutions in connection with the Bill shall be taken without debate; and

(b) the proceedings on the Committee Stage of the Bill shall be brought to a conclusion in accordance with the following timetable—

Wednesday, 16th May, Chapter I of Part I (covering sections 1 to 9), 6 p.m.; Chapters II and III of Part I (covering sections 10 to 31), 10.30 p.m. Thursday, 17th May, Chapters IV to VII, inclusive, of Part I (covering sections 32 to 58), 1.45 p.m.; Part I (covering sections 59 to 76), 5 p.m. Tuesday, 22nd May, Parts II and III (covering sections 77 to 96), 5.45 p.m.; Parts IV and V (covering sections 97 to 112), 6.45 p.m.; Parts VI and VII (covering sections 113 to 126), the Schedules and the Title, 10.30 p.m. Wednesday, 23rd May, Fourth and Fifth Stages, 10.30 p.m.

and where proceedings have not concluded by the stated time, they shall be brought to a conclusion by one Question, which shall be put from the Chair, and which shall, in relation to amendments, include only amendments set down by the Minister for Finance."
