137 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for the Environment if he will sanction the appropriate finance to have remedial works carried out on houses purchased under the tenant purchase scheme at a location (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
A capital allocation of £200,000 has been notified to Kilkenny Corporation in respect of their expenditure this year under the Department's remedial works scheme. Approval to the seeking of tenders in respect of phase 2 of the refurbishment programme at this location issued on 3 April 1990. Under the terms of the scheme, 100 per cent capital funding is made available for refurbishment works to rented local authority dwellings and in the case of purchased houses, 50 per cent of the cost of eligible works is made available.
