Vol. 398 No. 8

Written Answers. - Application for Medical Card.

Patrick McCartan

Ceist:

146 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Health when he will respond to the representations of the Irish Association on Raynaud's Syndrome of 31 October 1989 on behalf of a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5; if he will provide this person with special hand gloves; if this person is entitled to a medical card, in view of her medical needs; and if he will make a statment on the matter.

I have been in touch with the Eastern Health Board in this matter and I am informed that the person in question does not at present hold a medical card. The medical card which the family had was withdrawn in August 1989 as a completed review form was not returned to the board. However, a medical card application has now been issued to the person in question and all of the circumstances will be taken into consideration immediately on its return.
