166 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Education if she has any plans to upgrade the assistant pharmacists course to MPSI status, by way of provision of an additional course of study for this purpose; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I recently met representatives of the Pharmaceutical Assistants' Association to discuss this matter. Following my meeting I have asked the Higher Education Authority to investigate the proposals made to me by the association.
