Proinsias De Rossa

Ceist:

46 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the present position regarding the proposed rural development programme, if the final programme has yet been submitted to the European Commission; when the Commission is expected to give its decision; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Discussions have been held with the EC Commission on a draft of the operational programme for rural development and the final document will be submitted to the Commission within the very near future. I expect that the Commission will be able to approve the programme within two to three months.
