Vol. 398 No. 10

Written Answers. - Tenant Purchase Scheme.

Ruairí Quinn

Ceist:

173 Mr. Quinn asked the Minister for the Environment if he will outline in respect of each housing authority the total number of casual vacancies which arose during 1989; the total number of new lettings in 1989; the number of dwellings owned by each local authority for which applications to purchase were made as a result of the 1988 sales scheme; and the estimated current stock of rented dwellings owned by each local authority.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply to Question No. 5 of February 1989 which gave details of the number of applications received by each housing authority under the 1988 purchase scheme. The following table based on data furnished by housing authorities, gives, the most up to date details available of casual vacancies which arose, new lettings made and the estimated stock of rented dwellings.
