Ceist:35 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will outline the progress made by SFADCo in providing new industrial jobs in north County Kerry.

SFADCo have statutory responsibility for the implementation of industrial development policy in the midwest region, which includes north County Kerry. The information sought by the Deputy relates to the day to day responsibility of SFADCo and is not, therefore, a matter in which I have a direct function.
I am, however, advised by SFADCo that the progress achieved in 1989 suffered a set back as a result of Kerry Fashions being put into receivership in January this year. However, the recent resumption of operations at the plant has reversed this trend and SFADCo have assured me that they are vigorously promoting north Kerry as a location for suitable projects.
