Ceist:103 Mr. Hyland asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will designate the Slieve Margey area of County Laois as environmentally sensitive under EC Regulations 787/85.

An inter-departmental committee established by me is at present evaluating areas for inclusion in the environmentally sensitive areas scheme in accordance with the criteria laid down in EC Regulation 797/85. The coverage of the scheme will be determined by me in the light of the committee's recommendations. The inclusion of the Slieve Margey area in the scheme will be considered in the course of this procedure.
