Notes
Expenditure figures for Northern Ireland are denominated in pounds sterling. The expenditure figures for Northern Ireland are calculated on an April to March financial year. Hence the Northern Ireland figures labelled "1989" refer to the financial year April 1989 to March 1990, and similarly the 1990 figures refer to the financial year which began on 1 April 1990.
I am not aware of any published studies analysing the comparative cost of health care between Northern Ireland and the Republic.
