I am arranging to have the birthplace of Daniel O'Connell at Carhan, Caherciveen, County Kerry, entered on the Register of Historic Monuments. This will mean that the site cannot be interfered with without the consent of the Commissioners of Public Works.
I have asked the Commissioners of Public Works to arrange for an inspection of the site and provide an up-to-date report on its current condition.
