Vol. 399 No. 3

Written Answers. - PAYE Allowance.

Jim Mitchell

Ceist:

48 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Finance if his attention has been drawn to a case (details supplied) in Dublin 10 where a married man is in receipt of a single person's PAYE allowance for several years and has been now told that he will be granted the full PAYE allowance for last year but that it will not be made fully retrospective to cover the entire period when he would have been entitled to the married allowance; if the married PAYE allowance rate will be made fully retrospective and the period from which the retrospection will be based.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the question of restrospection in this case is being examined and a decision will be conveyed to the taxpayer shortly.
