Ceist:

72 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will provide extra funding for students in agricultural colleges; and if he will make similar funds available to students attending part-time courses at local Teagasc educational centres; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

An additional £1.7 million was provided in the 1990 budget from Exchequer and EC funds for full-time students at agricultural colleges. I have no plans at this stage to provide further funding on the lines referred to but the matter is being kept under review.
