Ceist:65 Mr. Connor asked the Minister for Finance when an amended income tax balancing statement granting correct allowance in respect of mortgage interest relief will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Roscommon.
Written Answers. - Income Tax Liability.
I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that a balancing statement for 1988-89, incorporating a figure of £384 in respect of interest relief, was issued to the taxpayer on 30 January 1990. There is no further interest relief due to him for that year.
The inspector of taxes is now writing to the taxpayer for the details required to review his liability for 1989-90. Any tax found to have been overpaid will be refunded to him.
