Written Answers. - Monaghan/Blackwater Drainage Scheme.

Ceist:

67 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Finance if he will outline in respect of the Monaghan/Blackwater drainage scheme (a) the total estimated cost of the scheme (b) the total amount of money spent on the scheme to date, including labour, materials, compensation claims and payment to the authorities in Northern Ireland (c) the level of EC funds which are included in the overall estimate (d) the percentage of the work which has been completed at present and (e) the projected completion date for the scheme.

The information requested in relation to the Blackwater (Monaghan) Catchment Drainage scheme is set as follows: (a) Total estimated cost of the scheme (current prices), IR£22.25 million; (b) Expenditure to date, IR£13.95 million; (c) EC funds received under Council Directive 79/197/EEC which expired in July 1986, IR£2.687 million; (d) Percentage of work completed, 64%; (e) Projected completion date, 1993.
