Vol. 399 No. 4

Written Answers. - Grant Payment.

Michael Joe Cosgrave

Ceist:

87 Mr. Cosgrave asked the Minister for the Environment in regard to a person (details supplied) in Dublin 13, who applied for a house improvement grant on 27 April 1986, the reason this application was refused as all necessary works were carried out within the specified time; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The applicant was advised following receipt of his application that, as a period of 10 years had not elapsed since the payment of a new house grant in respect of the house, a house improvement grant could not then be allowed. He was further informed that, if he deferred commencement of work until the ten year period had expired, he could renew the application. However, he had not reapplied before the scheme of grants was terminated in March 1987.
