Ceist:75 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Energy if he will outline his response to a request, submitted to his Department in January, 1989, seeking funding for the restoration of Glenbower Lake, Killeagh, County Cork.
Written Answers. - Killeagh, Cork, Amenity Area Project.
Following various representations, my Department applied under the European Regional Development Fund for assistance towards the cost of constructing a dam to restore Glenbower Lake and associated amenities at Glenbower Wood, Killeagh, County Cork. However, despite my Department's continuous efforts in 1989, this particular project was not given a sufficiently high priority by the European Commission to guarantee its acceptance for funding. Other possibilities for obtaining funds for the project are being explored in consultation with Coillte Teoranta who own the property.
