Vol. 399 No. 11

Written Answers. - St. Michael's House.

Patrick McCartan

Ceist:

74 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Health if he will outline the circumstances surrounding the move by St. Michael's House, from two houses at 17 and 18 Grangemore Park, Donaghmeade, Dublin 13 to the residential units at Ballymun, Dublin 11; if he will take any steps to facilitate the return of the residents to Grangemore Park; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

St. Michael's House have operated a hostel in Grangemore Park since 1973. However, in recent weeks the residents have been intimidated by a gang of young people operating in the area. In view of this and because of the risk to both residents and staff St. Michael's House moved the residents to alternative temporary accommodation.

It would be a matter for St. Michael's House to decide what long term arrangements would best serve the interest of the residents.
