Vol. 399 No. 11

Written Answers. - Wheelchair Access Facilities.

Pat Rabbitte

Ceist:

76 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Health if he will outline the facilities available at St. James's Hospital, Dublin 8, for visitors to the hospital who are wheelchair bound; and the plans, if any, he has to upgrade such facilities.

There is easy access for wheelchair bound visitors to all the existing hospital buildings at St. James's and all have lifts serving upper floors. In the case of the recently constructed new hospital at St. James's all doors are designed for wheelchair access and there are special toilet facilities for the wheelchair bound in wards and clinics. In addition a number of parking places in the car park are reserved for handicapped persons.
