Vol. 399 No. 11

Written Answers. - Refusal of Home Visits.

Tony Gregory

Ceist:

86 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education if the request of persons (details supplied) in Dublin 1 that their son should not be allowed home at weekends from a special school will be agreed to.

In special circumstances of the kind outlined by the Deputy, school managers will usually be in a position to meet a request that a child should be kept in the school. In the case referred to, the manager has, I am glad to say, indicated that he is prepared to grant the request, subject to his discretion from time to time to review the circumstances.
